Who Hears Our Cry?

Networking for South Sudanese Refugees

Do you hear their cry?

Approximately 89,000 South Sudanese have fled brutal violence—violence inflicted by their own government—in a desperate search for safety. Now across the border in Ethiopia, they have found refuge. The UN has set up a new refugee camp at Luakdong, to provide basic needs of food. The LCSS senses the call to provide for spiritual needs as well – a church, a pastor, Bibles, worship materials, etc.

But we hear their cry.

And we believe the Church must respond—not just with words, but with action. In the name of Jesus, we have brought relationship, hope, and compassion.

This is a call to the whole body of Christ. Scripture tells us, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” (1 Corinthians 12:26) These are our brothers and sisters. When they cry, we cry. When they rejoice, we rejoice.

Will you join us?

Together, we are raising funds that will go directly to build a basic church structure and to provide a pastor, Bibles, worship materials, etc. Hope for the hopeless, given with the loving ministry of Jesus through the Lutheran Church of South Sudan.
